Roles & Responsibilities


We are looking for a Purchasing Officer with Oman Driving License to join our Procurement Department who has a strong experience in project-based procurement, supplier management, and coordination with warehouse and finance teams.

You will be responsible for managing and leading the procurement function to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing of materials, equipment, and services required for our projects, which includes a wide range of activities, but not limited to:

PROCUREMENT & PURCHASING

  • Lead the end-to-end procurement process based on LBOs, BOQs, and project requirements.
  • Break down general requirements into detailed material specifications.
  • Prepare, issue, and manage RFQs to approved suppliers.
  • Analyze and compare supplier quotations technically and commercially.
  • Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
  • Select suppliers in line with company policy and client/regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs).

SUPPLIER & VENDOR MANAGEMENT

  • Manage and maintain the approved supplier database.
  • Ensure compliance with client approvals and regulatory standards (e.g., DCRP where applicable).
  • Evaluate supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues and delays.

INVENTORY & WAREHOUSE COORDINATION

  • Coordinate with warehouse/storekeeper to verify stock availability before purchasing.
  • Avoid overstocking and duplicate purchasing.
  • Ensure materials received match purchase orders and specifications.
  • Support inventory planning and material availability for projects.

DOCUMENTATION & SYSTEMS

  • Ensure all procurement documentation is complete and properly filed.
  • Update procurement transactions in Tally and/or ERP systems.
  • Support ERP implementation and adoption of standardized procurement workflows.
  • Prepare procurement reports for management review.

COORDINATION & SUPPORT

  • Work closely with project engineers, site teams, warehouse, and finance departments.
  • Provide procurement status updates and highlight risks or delays.
  • Support audits, tenders, and management reviews.

COMPLIANCE & COST CONTROL

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures and client requirements.
  • Monitor procurement costs against project budgets.
  • Support cost optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

1) 5 to 10 years of experience in procurement, preferably in construction, utilities, or contracting companies.

2) Strong experience in electrical materials and project-based procurement is highly preferred.


TECHNICAL SKILLS & CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of procurement procedures and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and cost-comparison skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting and hands-on experience with Tally and/or ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills and high attention to detail and accountability.
