Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the daily operations of the purchasing section to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.

Develop, implement, and monitor purchasing strategies aligned with company objectives and quality standards.

Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and maintain strong vendor relationships.

Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.

Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing activities, budgets, and supplier performance to senior management.

Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal controls related to procurement processes.

Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to orders, deliveries, or invoices in a timely and professional manner.

Train, mentor, and supervise purchasing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience in food raw materials ( MUST )
Large supplier base specializing in purchasing cans and glass ( MUST )
Extensive cordial base specializing in purchasing cardboard ( MUST )
Good relationships with sugar suppliers ( MUST )

Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the food manufacturing or FMCG sector.

Proven track record of managing procurement teams and leading purchasing operations in a fast-paced environment.

Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective supplier relationships.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Solid understanding of procurement best practices, contract management, and inventory control.

Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Familiarity with local and international sourcing regulations and compliance standards.

Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on staff development.
