Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Deliverables

  • Develop and administer Food Safety and Quality programs that result in compliance with Company Policies and Procedures, GMPs, International or Global Standards, Regulatory Standard and customer requirements as related to process and packaging of products produced and required incoming materials
  • Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for commercial processes and products
  • Directly supervises the overall efficiency of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities of the company
  • Carry-out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable regulatory

Job Responsibilities Supervision & Training

  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and taking part in resolving problems
  • Ensure the ongoing coaching, development and training of team members
  • Complete performance appraisals in a timely manner providing effective performance feedback
  • Ensure the conduct of quarterly training to all plant employees for all available systems (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO22000, ISO 22002, GMP, GHP, GLP, GWP, GMnP)
  • Provide expertise and resources for product safety and sanitation training for the entire plant staff

Quality & Compliance Management

  • Ensures the conduct of quarterly Management Systems Internal Audit (QEFS) as well as GMP, GHP, GLP, GMnP, GWP and Supplier Quality Assurance
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulations as well as product safety and sanitation policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Ensure processes, procedures and practices are complying to standards (QMS, EMS and FSMS)
  • Regularly audit employees who perform for competency and adherence to written procedures
  • When practice and procedure do not match, submit procedure change request
  • Communicate and report on compliance deviations from standards to the Quality & Innovation Manager and other functional departments

Investigation & Problem Resolution

  • Leads in the investigation team in root-cause analysis, corrective action recommendations, assessment of the effectiveness of implementation of management prioritize deviations and resolution of customer complaints, foreign material sightings, and reject product episodes
  • Resolve and/or recommend resolution of direct material quality issues and warehouse receiving problems
  • Market Complaints management (system, investigation, communication)
  • Coordinating the receiving, information gathering, investigation and replies of market complaints
  • Collating, analyzing market complaint data and information and recommending remedial actions

Documentation & Reporting

  • Manage various document systems, including HOLD forms, and sanitation procedures, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Prepare monthly quality report
  • Deliver accurately and on time all customer requests for documentation and samples
  • Creates trend reports for all NCR s, complaints and provides data inputs for the monthly quality report and other adhoc reports
  • Analyses all reports created and provide summarized highlights for management analysis and decision-making
  • Maintain the highest standards of data management by creating consistent, reliable data which will ensure accuracy and in turn, maximize the use of data and confidence in decision making

Quality Analysis & Testing

  • Ensure accurate and efficient attribute analysis and reporting on supplies as well as all processed and packaged products

HACCP & Systems

  • Coordinates the review, updating and documentation of HACCP, Risk Assessments and Plans
  • Systems development, HACCP review, updating, verification and documentation
  • Validation activities for process/equipment/material changes and modifications; Line audits

Administrative & Safety

  • Raise purchase request for all routinely used items in the most cost-effective manner staying within the departmental budget
  • Ensure attendance of self and staff
  • Ensure that all staff members are aware of and observe all plant safety policies
  • Maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity
  • Other duties may be assigned by Quality Management

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements Technical/Functional Skills

  • Computer skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to access and navigate the Internet is required
