Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Translate requirements into clear Test Plans, Test Scenarios, and Test Cases (Functional, Integration, Regression, Smoke, UAT).
Execute manual testing on Web & Mobile; validate edge cases, negative paths, and accessibility basics.
Test APIs with Postman/Newman (variables, environments, scripted assertions); maintain living API test suites.
Log high-quality bug reports (steps to reproduce, expected vs actual, severity/priority, screenshots/logs) and drive defect lifecycle to closure.
Build and maintain Smoke/Regression suites; participate in release gates (DoR/DoD).
Contribute to test automation for repeatable flows (Cypress or Selenium) following POM and solid locator strategy.
Run basic performance checks (JMeter/Locust) and interpret key metrics (throughput/latency/errors).
Collaborate daily with Product/Engineering/Design, challenge assumptions, and surface risk early.
Track quality KPIs: test coverage, escaped defects, MTTR, flaky tests rate.
Desired Candidate Profile
Must-Have Skills
Strong test design: boundary value, equivalence partitioning, state transition, exploratory techniques.
API testing expertise with Postman/Newman (pre-request scripts, test scripts).
Defect management on Jira + (Xray/Zephyr) or similar test management tools.
SQL basics (SELECT, JOIN, WHERE) to validate data; comfort reading logs.
Git basics to pull branches, review diffs, version test assets.
Solid grasp of Agile/Scrum ceremonies, release cycles, and risk-based testing.
Clear written English for test cases and bug reports; sharp attention to detail.
Nice to Have
Automation: Cypress (JS/TS) or Selenium (Java/JS), Page Object Model, waits/assertions, CI execution.
Mobile testing (Android/iOS): installs, deep links, permissions, offline/online transitions.
Performance fundamentals: JMeter/Locust scripting and report reading.
Security awareness (OWASP Top 10) and common auth flows (JWT/OAuth/OTP).
Monitoring/Analytics: Sentry/Crashlytics/GA4 familiarity.
Tools Stack (Typical)
Test Management: Xray/Zephyr, Confluence.
API: Postman + Newman.
Automation: Cypress/Selenium, Allure (optional).
Performance: JMeter/Locust.
Collab/Versioning: Jira, GitHub/GitLab, Slack.
Domain (Nice if FinTech)
Payments lifecycle, webhooks, idempotency, settlement/reconciliation basics, RTL/localization awareness.
