Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Quality Testing & Analysis

  • Conduct physical, chemical, and analytical testing of crude oil, refined oil, finished products, and packaging materials.

  • Perform routine laboratory analysis including:

    • Free Fatty Acid (FFA)

    • Moisture & Impurities (M&I)

    • Peroxide Value (PV)

    • Iodine Value (IV)

    • Color analysis

    • Soap content

    • Phosphorus analysis

    • Density and viscosity

  • Monitor refining process parameters and product conformity.

  • Verify product quality during receiving, production, filling, and dispatch stages.

Laboratory Operations

  • Maintain laboratory equipment calibration and proper functioning.

  • Prepare reagents, chemical solutions, and standard samples.

  • Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals and laboratory consumables.

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the laboratory area.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Record test results accurately in laboratory reports and ERP/manual logs.

  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis (COA) for finished products.

  • Report non-conforming products and deviations to immediate supervisor.

  • Maintain quality records in compliance with ISO, HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards.

Compliance & Food Safety

  • Ensure compliance with:

    • HACCP

    • GMP

    • ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000

    • Food safety and hygiene standards

    • Local regulatory requirements

  • Participate in internal audits and external inspections.

  • Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.

Production Support

  • Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance departments regarding quality-related issues.

  • Monitor product stability and shelf-life requirements.

  • Assist in troubleshooting quality problems during refining and packaging operations.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Food Technology, Biochemistry, or related field.

Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in quality control laboratory within edible oil, food manufacturing, or FMCG industry.

  • Experience in refinery laboratory testing is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of edible oil refining process and quality parameters.

  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments and testing methods.

  • Understanding of food safety systems and laboratory practices.

  • Knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
