Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
QC Inspector ensures all project work (mechanical, welding, Electrical & Instrumentation, Rotating & Static Equipments, civil, etc.) meets stringent Aramco standards, codes (ASME, API, AWS), and project specifications by conducting inspections (VT, RT, PT, UT), preparing NCRs, monitoring activities, coordinating with teams, and maintaining detailed quality records, requiring specific certifications like AWS/CSWIP/NACE/BGAS/API and Aramco CBT pass for various disciplines.
- Welding QC Inspector: AWS or CSWIP3.1 Certifed, Monitor welding procedures, welder qualifications, pre/post-weld activities, and joint integrity.
- Painting/ Coating QC Inspector: CSWIP/BGAS/NACE Level II+expertise in standards (SSPC/NACE/ASTM), proficiency with tools (holiday detectors, DFT gauges), and skills in documentation, report writing (Excel/Word), and coordinating with Aramco reps for approvals on surface prep, application, and testing.
- Rotating QC Inspector: Strong working knowledge of international codes and standards such as ASME (Sections I, V, VIII, IX), API (API 610, 611, 617, 650, etc.), ASTM, and specific Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES, SAEP, SATIP). Hands-on inspection experience with various static and rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, generators, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and motors. Proficiency in performing visual inspections, functional tests, monitoring performance checks, and witnessing commissioning activities. Valid API 510 (Pressure Vessel Inspector) and API 653 (Storage Tank Inspector) are often required for static equipment. API 570 (Piping Inspector) is a plus.
- Electrical & Instrumentation QC Inspector: Thorough knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards and specifications (SAES, SATIPs, SAMSS) is crucial. Familiarity with international industry codes and standards like IEC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, etc..Expertise in hazardous area installations and relevant safety practices (LOTO, etc.).Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of materials, equipment, and installations (e.g., cable trays, conduits, grounding, lighting systems, switchgear).Witness and verify various tests, including insulation resistance, continuity checks, loop checks, and functional tests.Perform or verify the calibration of instruments (transmitters, gauges, control valves, etc.).Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and material approval requests (MARs).Prepare and manage quality documentation, including inspection reports (RFIs, WIRs), checklists, punch lists, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- RTR (Reinforced Thermosetting Resin) QC Inspector: Inspect RTR piping, verify curing, lamination, and perform hydrostatic/pneumatic tests.
- Batch Plant QC Inspector: Assess batch plant labs, equipment, procedures, and material quality for concrete/asphalt.
- HVAC QC Inspector: Ensure HVAC system installation and maintenance meet quality standards, including testing.
Key Requirements for Approval:
- Valid Aramco Approval: Mandatory for all roles.
- CBT Pass: Completion of Saudi Aramco's Competency Based Training (CBT).
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS-CWI, CSWIP 3.1, API 510/570/653).
- Experience: Typically 5+ years of experience in oil & gas/Aramco projects.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education: Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related Engineering field, or High School graduate for certain roles.
- Experience: Minimum 3-6+ years in inspection for oil & gas, construction, or EPC projects, often specific to Aramco projects.
- Aramco Approval: Mandatory passing of the Aramco CBT (Computer-Based Test) for their discipline, requiring pre-authorization from Aramco.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications are crucial (e.g., CSWIP 3.1, AWS-CWI, BGAS, NACE for Coating, ASNT Level II for NDT).
- Standards Knowledge: Deep understanding of relevant codes (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO) and Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES).
- English Proficiency: Strong reading, writing, and speaking skills in English.
