Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

To ensure that all rubber lining activities are executed in accordance with approved specifications, industry standards, and project requirements through effective inspection, testing, and quality control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of rubber lining works as per approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
  • Verify surface preparation prior to rubber lining application.
  • Inspect rubber lining application processes and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Conduct visual inspection to identify defects such as blisters, bubbles, cracks, and uneven application.
  • Measure rubber lining thickness using appropriate instruments and ensure compliance with specified tolerances.
  • Perform and witness adhesion tests (pull-off / tape tests).
  • Conduct Shore A hardness testing to verify material properties.
  • Monitor vulcanization process and verify curing parameters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and project specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with production, site teams, and client representatives during inspections.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures during inspection activities.
  • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required and follow up on corrective actions.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Chemical / Materials) with minimum 5 years of inspection experience
    OR
  • Diploma in Engineering with minimum 8 years of inspection experience.
  • Certification such as:
    • NACE / BGAS or equivalent
    • ICorr Protective Coatings Inspector Level 2 (or equivalent)

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of different types of rubber linings and their properties.
  • Understanding of surface preparation standards.
  • Expertise in inspection methods and testing procedures.
  • Knowledge of adhesion testing and thickness measurement techniques.
  • Familiarity with Shore A hardness testing.
  • Understanding of vulcanization process and its impact on lining performance.
  • Conversant with applicable industry standards and specifications.
