Roles & Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a QC Piping Engineer to strengthen our team in Iraq. This is a full-time onsite position based in Basra, Iraq.

Qualification:

  • More than 10 years experience in the Up-stream or Mid-Stream of the Oil and Gas project/operations engineering business
  • Bachelor s Degree in Piping Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
  • More than 5 years experience in Hazardous areas.
  • Good knowledge for the Implementation of project Quality Management System according to requirement of ISO 9001:2015 at different stages of project construction activities.
  • Good Knowledge with international standards such as: ASME B16.5, ASME B31.4, ISO 13623, ISO 13640, API RP Series 5 (5L), 6 etc
  • Qualified in Atex certified Equipment with Non-Electrical Compex or equivalent qualification.

Skills:

  • Quality Audits and Inspections experience
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions; prepare clear and concise records, reports, and other written materials.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with those encountered in the course of work.
  • Read and understand P&ID, technical documentation, Certification documents, manuals, drawing, specifications, and processes diagrams pertaining to oil and gas industry.
  • Organize, plan and complete projects.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally orally and in writing.
  • Work with minimal supervision; schedule own time according to established priorities; work under less detailed instructions to complete assignments.
  • Manage condition and asset failure data; assist with determining where to store it; QA/QC the data to make sure that it is correct; work with appropriate groups to request schema changes in applications used to support asset management.
  • Proven supervisory experience with excellent behaviors and the ability to plan and measure.
  • Hands on experience in Oil and Gas facilities
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written briefs and skilled in report writing and compilation.
  • Strong knowledge of piping maintenance and inspection techniques.
  • Experience and ability to find fault piping systems

Systems:

  • Maximo / CMMS / Aconex
  • Microsoft Suite

Key Activities:

  • Quality Control Experience.
  • Inspection, maintenance, repair and rectification work on all Piping equipment in west qurna1
  • Ensure all work meets the site needs in reference to the regulations and the subsequent ATEX compliance if applicable.
  • Utilizes and understands P&ID, single line drawings, termination drawings, technical documentation, Certification documents, manuals, drawing, specifications, and processes diagrams pertaining to oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to complete reports and ITR on equipment inspected and tested.
  • Experience with piping installation and inspection.
  • Provide support for the implementation and on-going maintenance of safety critical piping systems.
  • Troubleshooting to Identify problems or issues in a timely manner to take corrective action as required.
  • Builds relationships with other departments and project team members.
  • Supervise vender activities.
  • Knowledge of the working principle of field installed piping equipment's.
  • Computer skills related to Maintenance Management software Passport, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Complies with National Codes, Standards and Regulations
  • Adhere to Health, Safety and Environment policy and comply with employee responsibilities listed in the Health, Safety and Environment Handbook.
