Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement QHSE management systems and procedures tailored to the specific operational demands of oilfield and gas projects within the UAE, ensuring full compliance with local regulations and international standards.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations, focusing on root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and improve safety performance within Emirati operational contexts.
  • Lead and manage a team of QHSE professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations, while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the Emirati workforce.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of QHSE training programs, including tailored content for Emirati employees, ensuring that all personnel are adequately equipped to perform their duties safely.
  • Monitor and analyze QHSE performance data, identifying trends and areas for improvement, and reporting findings to senior management with actionable recommendations specific to the UAE operational environment.
  • Manage and maintain QHSE documentation, including permits, licenses, and inspection records, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for all relevant stakeholders within the context of UAE regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with QHSE policies and procedures, focusing on identifying and addressing potential hazards in the Emirati operational landscape.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as ADNOC, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations within the UAE, building strong relationships.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures, including drills and exercises, to ensure preparedness for potential incidents and promote a proactive safety culture within the Emirati workforce.
  • Drive a culture of proactive safety and environmental awareness by promoting employee engagement and participation in QHSE initiatives, tailored to the cultural context of the UAE.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field, demonstrating a strong academic foundation.
  • Possession of internationally recognized QHSE certifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent, showcasing a commitment to professional development.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in QHSE roles within the oil and gas industry, with a proven track record of success in the UAE.
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE QHSE regulations (e.g., ADNOC, OSHAD) and international standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO , ensuring compliance.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team of QHSE professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement QHSE management systems, tailored to complex operational environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, including fluency in Arabic and English.
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis, demonstrating analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in QHSE software and data analysis tools, enhancing efficiency in managing and reporting QHSE performance.
  • Emirati national preferred, with a deep understanding of local culture, values, and business practices, facilitating effective communication and collaboration within the UAE context.
