Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives.

  • Monitor and control project costs throughout all phases, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities based on drawings and specifications.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and change orders to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to provide cost advice and support decision-making.
  • Track project expenditures and prepare regular financial reports for management review.
  • Analyze project risks related to costs and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Review and validate contractor and supplier invoices, ensuring alignment with contract terms and project progress.
  • Assist in the procurement process by providing cost data and participating in tender evaluations.
  • Support the continuous improvement of cost control processes and tools within the organization.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years and up to 6 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying and cost control within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and tendering processes.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in cost control software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively in an office-based environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with local and international construction standards and regulations.
