Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met with precision.
- Conduct thorough cost estimates and budget analyses to support project feasibility and financial planning.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to identify resource needs and allocate them efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to address any deviations from the planned schedule and budget.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, providing a solid technical foundation.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying and project planning within the construction industry, demonstrating industry expertise.
Professional certification such as MRICS or PMP is highly desirable, showcasing a commitment to professional development.
Experience with major construction projects, particularly in infrastructure or commercial sectors, indicating a robust understanding of project complexities.
Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor & Planning Engineer to join our project team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for project cost control, planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring to ensure timely and budget-friendly project delivery. The candidate must have strong analytical abilities, solid technical knowledge, and practical experience in construction projects.
Responsibilities Prepare cost estimates, BOQ, materials take-off, and project budgets. Review and evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare cost comparisons. Develop baseline project schedules using professional planning software (Primavera P6 / MS Project). Monitor project progress and provide weekly/monthly schedule updates and reports. Track productivity rates, identify delays, and propose corrective actions. Assist project team with contract administration, claims preparation, and variation orders. Ensure all planning and cost control activities comply with company standards and contractual requirements. Coordinate with engineers, procurement, and site teams to ensure proper planning and resource allocation.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience as QS or Planning Engineer in construction projects. Proficient in Primavera P6 / MS Project, AutoCAD, Excel, and cost control tools. Strong knowledge of project execution, construction methods, and contract management. Ability to prepare BOQs, claims, variations, and progress reports independently. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional) Experience with infrastructure, building, or industrial construction projects. Knowledge of FIDIC contracts or similar standards. Professional certifications such as RICS, PMP, CCP, or equivalent are a plus.
