Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Lead and manage quality control activities across MEP contracting projects, with a strong focus on mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and related infrastructure.
Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Control Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, method statements, checklists, and quality procedures in alignment with contract requirements.
Ensure compliance with international quality standards, project specifications, approved drawings, authority regulations, and applicable codes such as ISO 9001, ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, ASME, ASTM, and IPC.
Oversee material inspections, installation inspections, testing, commissioning coordination, non-conformance reporting, corrective actions, and final quality documentation.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, project managers, and site teams to resolve quality issues and ensure timely approval of inspections and deliverables.
Lead internal quality audits, supplier/subcontractor evaluations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework and improve project delivery quality.
Mentor and guide QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and site teams on quality requirements, inspection protocols, documentation standards, and best practices.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred; degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline may also be considered for strong MEP profiles.
Minimum 10 years of quality control experience in MEP contracting, construction, or infrastructure projects, with proven leadership experience in QA/QC management.
Strong knowledge of international quality standards, mechanical codes, testing procedures, inspection methodologies, and MEP installation practices.
Demonstrated experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems, project quality plans, NCR management, corrective/preventive actions, audits, and handover documentation.
Proficiency in reviewing technical drawings, specifications, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, inspection reports, and commissioning records.
Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Professional certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, PMP, or relevant QA/QC certifications are an added advantage.
