Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and direction on all quality activities performed by Contractor Inspectors.
- Ensure Contractor’s Quality Management activities, reports, and records comply with company engineering requirements, standards, procedures, specifications, and Schedule “Q”.
- Support quality functions including in-process inspection, QA/QC, quality assessment, document review, and reporting.
- Review and evaluate Contractor’s QA/QC systems and ensure inspection records (hardcopy and electronic databases) are properly maintained.
- Conduct root cause analysis, risk assessments, and recommend preventive and corrective measures.
- Support procurement, purchasing, and project management teams in resolving inspection method or quality-related concerns.
- Review quality documents including but not limited to:
Technical Queries (TQ)
Drawings
Method Statements / Method of Work
NCR (Non-Conformity Reports)
RFI (Request for Inspection)
Violations, corrective & preventive action reports, etc. - Make technical decisions and engineering-based judgment to resolve quality or inspection challenges.
- Perform design reviews and ensure compliance with international codes and standards.
- Conduct regular site visits (onshore/offshore) to resolve quality and inspection issues and assess inspection service adequacy.
- Stay updated on the latest inspection standards, codes, methods, tools, equipment, and best practices.
- Deliver specialized training when required.
- Be able to work in physically demanding conditions, outdoors, confined spaces, elevated areas, and remote locations (on/offshore).
Desired Candidate Profile
Education & Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Engineering Mechanical preferred.
- Strong technical and engineering foundation.
- Procurement and in-process inspection experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years inspection experience, including at least 3years in inspection supervision.
- Minimum 3 years quality engineering experience in construction, QA, or QC.
- Experience reviewing quality documentation and making technical decisions.
Technical Competencies:
- Able to review quality documents, drawings, method statements, NCRs, RFIs, technical queries, and inspection reports.
- Capable of making sound technical decisions based on engineering judgment.
- Experience in design and engineering review.
- Knowledge of quality assessment, process inspection, and construction quality systems.
Standards & Codes:
- Familiar with international quality, inspection, and construction codes and standards (US Codes experience preferred).
- Full working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
- Confirmed knowledge of ISO 9001 implementation.
- Experience working with ISO 9001.
- Strong material testing and inspection knowledge.
- Experience with Schedule “Q” compliance.
Communication:
- Excellent English proficiency (spoken and written).
- Strong reporting, technical communication, and documentation skills.
Work Environment:
- Must be willing to work outdoors, in confined spaces, at high elevations, and in remote locations.
- Open to onshore and offshore assignments.
