Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support daily trade execution, booking, confirmations and settlement across physical and derivative legs

  • Build, maintain and extend pricing, P&L attribution and risk models (spot, forward, EFP, lease-rate, options)

  • Monitor basis, contango/backwardation, free metal economics, payables-rate exposure and refinery dwell time

  • Track positions and exposures across loco London/Dubai, COMEX and OTC counterparties; flag breaches and hedging gaps

  • Design and back-test synthetic trading ideas such as cash-and-carry, lease arbitrage, option overlays, relative-value pairs

  • Prepare MIS, scenario analysis and management decks, coordinate with banks, refiners, logistics and compliance counterparties

  • Contribute to trade finance structuring, KYC/AML workflows and LBMA-related due diligence


Desired Candidate Profile

  • 2–3 years experience in commodities trading, sales & trading, derivatives structuring or quant analytics at a bank, trading house, or fund (CFA / FRM / quant master's a plus but not required)

  • Demonstrated flair for synthetic / derivative trading logic — ability to reason through hedges, basis, and optionality without hand-holding

  • Strong financial modelling (Excel/VBA) and quantitative skills; Python (pandas/numpy) strongly preferred

  • Comfort with Bloomberg / Refinitiv and precious metals market data

  • Interest in precious metals, trade finance, and physical-to-synthetic trading mechanics

  • High ownership mindset suited to an early-stage environment; comfortable moving between ops, analytics, and desk support

  • Strong attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication
