Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction and renovation projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine material, labor, and time requirements.
- Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and report on cost variances throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to provide cost advice and value engineering solutions.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure the best terms and pricing.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress, verify quantities, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Prepare and submit interim and final payment applications, including supporting documentation and measurements.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks related to project costs and contractual obligations.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all cost-related activities, including change orders and variations.
- Support the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities, and procurement schedules.
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of proven experience in quantity surveying or construction cost engineering.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrated experience in contract administration and claims management.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, office-based environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
