Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
  • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project budgets and identify potential savings.
  • Monitor project expenditures and track variations, providing regular financial reports to project stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and procurement agreements to ensure favorable terms and compliance with industry standards.
  • Assess and certify contractor and supplier payment applications based on work progress and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to review project plans and resolve cost-related issues.
  • Conduct site visits to verify completed work and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Manage change orders and assess the financial impact of design or scope modifications.
  • Prepare and present tender documents, cost breakdowns, and risk assessments for bidding processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of proven experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control methodologies.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
