Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project budgets and identify potential savings.
- Monitor project expenditures and track variations, providing regular financial reports to project stakeholders.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and procurement agreements to ensure favorable terms and compliance with industry standards.
- Assess and certify contractor and supplier payment applications based on work progress and contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to review project plans and resolve cost-related issues.
- Conduct site visits to verify completed work and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Manage change orders and assess the financial impact of design or scope modifications.
- Prepare and present tender documents, cost breakdowns, and risk assessments for bidding processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of proven experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control methodologies.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
