Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects.
  • Monitor project budgets and provide regular cost reports to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and variations with suppliers and contractors.
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress, verify quantities, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate costings.
  • Assist in the procurement process by preparing tender documents and evaluating bids.
  • Manage and track project expenditures, identifying potential cost overruns and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to optimize resource allocation and project delivery.
  • Prepare and submit interim and final payment applications to clients and subcontractors.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant legal, contractual, and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years and up to 6 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or construction cost engineering.
  • Proven experience in preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and project management principles.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills for dealing with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Willingness to work on-site as required by project demands.
