Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects.
- Monitor project budgets and provide regular cost reports to project managers and stakeholders.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and variations with suppliers and contractors.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress, verify quantities, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate costings.
- Assist in the procurement process by preparing tender documents and evaluating bids.
- Manage and track project expenditures, identifying potential cost overruns and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to optimize resource allocation and project delivery.
- Prepare and submit interim and final payment applications to clients and subcontractors.
- Ensure adherence to relevant legal, contractual, and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years and up to 6 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or construction cost engineering.
- Proven experience in preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and project management principles.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills for dealing with contractors and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Willingness to work on-site as required by project demands.
