Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation & BOQ Preparation: Develop detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for roads and bridge projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
  • Tender & Contract Support: Prepare engineer s estimates, evaluate contractor submissions, and respond to tender queries in line with contractual obligations.
  • Collaboration with Design Teams: Work closely with engineering and design teams to provide commercial input during all stages of project development.
  • Pre-Contract Activities: Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and bidders to support smooth contract finalisation.
  • Commercial Administration: Manage variations, claims, and invoicing processes, liaising with clients to ensure timely certification and payments.
  • Data Management: Maintain cost databases and benchmarks specifically for roadworks, bridges, interchanges, and associated civil infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field (Master s preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years experience in the UAE, with a strong track record in roads and bridges projects.
  • Knowledge of RTA approval processes, standards, and regulations is essential.
  • Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts and UAE construction law.
  • Proficiency in estimation and QS tools (e.g., Candy, CostX, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • RICS membership or progress toward qualification preferred.
