Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor to manage all costs related to construction and civil engineering projects, from estimation to final accounts. The ideal candidate will ensure project budgets are utilized effectively while maintaining compliance with contract terms, quality standards, and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documents.
Analyze project drawings, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate cost forecasts.
Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor quotations and vendor proposals.
Conduct cost control throughout the project lifecycle to minimize financial risks.
Prepare progress claims, interim payment applications, and variation orders.
Assess and certify subcontractor payments and monitor project cash flow.
Maintain contract documentation and track project changes and claims.
Prepare detailed project reports, cost statements, and commercial updates for management.
Conduct site visits for measurement, progress verification, and cost evaluation.
Support procurement strategy and price negotiation.
Liaise with project managers, engineers, consultants, and clients to ensure commercial alignment.
Ensure compliance with contractual conditions and company policies.
Assist with dispute resolution and contract administration.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in quantity surveying within construction/infrastructure/building projects.
Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and contractual claims.
Proficiency in cost estimation software (AutoCAD, MS Excel, CostX, Candy, or similar).
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and mathematical skills.
Strong understanding of construction methods and technical drawings.
Attention to detail and strong time-management skills.
Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
Preferred Experience
Experience in building projects / infrastructure / MEP projects.
Previous experience in the UAE/GCC construction industry.
Membership with RICS or AIQS is an advantage.
