Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed take-offs from MEP drawings and specifications to accurately estimate material quantities, labor hours, and associated costs for tendering and project execution.
- Prepare and analyze cost estimates, including preliminary budgets, detailed cost plans, and final accounts, ensuring alignment with project requirements and contractual obligations.
- Manage and administer subcontracts, including preparing and reviewing subcontract agreements, assessing variations, and processing payment applications.
- Evaluate and negotiate variations and change orders, ensuring fair pricing and protecting the company's financial interests throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project costs against the budget, identify potential cost overruns, and implement cost control measures to maintain profitability.
- Prepare and submit monthly progress reports, including cost forecasts, earned value analysis, and other relevant financial data to stakeholders.
- Review and analyze MEP contractor's invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms and conditions before processing payments.
- Provide technical and contractual support to project managers and site teams, offering guidance on cost-related matters and contractual issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cost-related activities, including correspondence, drawings, and other project documentation.
- Collaborate with the project team, including engineers, project managers, and subcontractors, to resolve cost-related issues and ensure project success.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, providing a strong foundation in construction principles.
- Demonstrates a minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, specifically within the MEP contracting sector, showcasing practical expertise.
- Exhibits proven experience in the Middle East construction market, understanding the nuances of local regulations and practices.
- Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling effective cost management and issue resolution.
- Demonstrates proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and estimation software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam), enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
- Displays excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
