Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Develop horizontal and vertical alignment designs for high-speed railway corridors using industry-standard software (e.g., Bentley Rail Track, OpenRail, Civil 3D).

Evaluate design solutions considering operational performance, safety, constructability, environmental constraints, and cost-efficiency.

Prepare, review, and update alignment drawings, reports, and technical documents.

Coordinate alignment solutions with multidisciplinary teams (civil, geotechnical, structures, MEP, environment).

Participate in design reviews with the client and relevant stakeholders.

Undertake site visits and route studies to identify constraints and opportunities.

Ensure alignment designs comply with international (e.g., UIC, AREMA, EN), client, and UAE-specific standards.

Support the development of tender documents, technical specifications, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).

Provide technical input during the construction phase, responding to RFIs and reviewing as-built records.

Contribute to risk assessments, value engineering, and buildability reviews related to alignment.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education:Bachelor s or Master s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Background:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in railway alignment design preferably with exposure to high-speed rail projects.
  • Proficient in alignment design software (e.g., Bentley OpenRail/PowerRail, Civil 3D).
  • Familiarity with high-speed rail engineering standards and practices.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary coordination, preferably in a consultancy environment.
  • Previous experience in the GCC/UAE railway projects is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and technical report writing skills.
  • Fluent in English.
