Roles & Responsibilities

Desired Candidate Profile

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise and monitor all civil works related to underground cable installation, including trenching, ducting, backfilling, and reinstatement.
• Review and approve contractor s method statements, drawings, and materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and TAQA requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, safety, and environmental specialists, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and progress monitoring; prepare and submit daily/weekly reports.
• Identify, report, and resolve any technical or site issues promptly to avoid project delays.
• Ensure all civil works adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Liaise with project stakeholders, attend progress meetings, and provide technical guidance as required.
• Support the project management team with schedule, risk, and resource management related to civil cable works.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master s preferred.
• Minimum 7 years experience in civil engineering, specifically in underground cable installation for power transmission/distribution projects.
• Prior experience working with major utility clients (preferably TAQA or equivalent) and large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of international standards (IEC, IEEE, BS, etc.) and local regulations related to civil and cable works.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
• Professional certification (e.g., PMP, PE, or equivalent) is an advantage.
