Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Operate reach trucks, counterbalance forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move pallets and goods within the warehouse and to and from delivery vehicles.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently, ensuring correct placement of goods and preventing damage to products and equipment.
- Perform accurate picking, packing, stacking, and staging of products according to shipping orders, manifests, and warehouse layout plans.
- Inspect equipment prior to each shift, report defects or maintenance needs, and perform basic daily maintenance tasks (fueling, battery charging, cleaning) as required.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to traffic patterns and load limits.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements, complete required paperwork or electronic logs, and assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as directed.
- Assist with general warehouse housekeeping to ensure aisles, racking, and work areas are clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and team members to coordinate tasks and support efficient warehouse operations.
- Support receiving and put-away processes, verifying quantities and condition of incoming shipments and reporting discrepancies.
- Participate in training, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and safety culture.
Desired Candidate Profile
Valid reach truck and forklift operator certification or license; formal training from an accredited program preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating reach trucks and forklifts in a warehouse, distribution center, or industrial environment.
- Ability to read and follow shipping documents, pick lists, and standard operating procedures accurately.
- Legal authorization to work in the hiring country.
Proven safe operation skills with strong spatial awareness and the ability to maneuver equipment in narrow aisles and tight spaces.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory and completing paperwork or electronic logs.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to identify minor equipment issues and perform routine checks.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends as operational needs require.
- Physically able to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to company-specified weights, standing for extended periods, and climbing into equipment safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and handheld scanners is a plus.
