Roles & Responsibilities

The digital marketing strategist will be responsible for creating digital campaigns and initiatives to improve user engagement, CTAs, open rates and journeys. The role sits within the Communications Department and closely collaborates with the Fundraising (FR) department, helping deliver transformative digital plans.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Digital Marketing specialist is accountable on:

  • Managing MSF s social media channels to position the organization effectively with digital audiences across priority MENA countries, ensuring alignment with brand and content strategies.
  • Planning, executing, and optimizing paid campaigns (social media ads and Google Ads), including budget allocation, scheduling, targeting, A/B testing, and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Preparing, segmenting, and distributing newsletters; implementing strategies to grow the subscriber base and improve open and click-through rates.
  • Collaborating with the wider communications team on the editorial calendar to ensure content consistency and timely delivery.
  • Leading on search engine optimization (SEO) and conversion rate optimization (CRO) strategies to strengthen MSF s visibility and achieve fundraising, communications, and advocacy objectives.
  • Monitoring and analyzing the performance of social media, digital ads, and website content; producing actionable insights and reports to inform ongoing optimization.

ROLE S SPECIFIC ELEMENTS

  • Support on the development and coordination of MSF digital engagement strategy in coordination with the communication manager and other team members.
  • Propose digital tactics that can help amplify our messages with a priority digital audience and help spread MSF missions and CTAs.
  • Manage MSF s social media channels in line with the content strategy, including planning, updating, scheduling, and publishing content.
  • Develop, implement and manage advertising campaigns across channels for an effective CTA performance, monitor performance and budget.
  • Develop segmentation strategies and A/B testing plans, to help reach organizational goals.
  • Design and implement message testing initiatives aimed at increasing audience engagement rates, along with surveys and other research tools to better understand our audiences.
  • Uploading and updating articles on MSF s website with news and stories; recommending content that strengthens SEO performance and increases organic reach.
  • Provide strategic direction to maintain and optimize the www.msf-me.org website by coordinating with an external agency for web design and development that improves performance and enhances the user experience.
  • leading on SEO (search engine optimization) and CRO (conversion rate optimization).
  • Monitor audiences interactions, feedback, and engagement metrics across all digital channels with regular reporting.
  • Coordinate the development of e-mail/newsletter output in close alignment with the communications teams.
  • Support rapid-response digital communications during emergencies to ensure timely visibility of MSF operations and messages.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with other MSF teams in Lebanon and Jordan.

Desired Candidate Profile

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Degree in Communications, journalism or marketing.

Experience:

  • (Essential) 3 to 5 years of experience in digital marketing.

Functional/Technical skills:

  • Excellent knowledge in tools such as Facebook ads, Google Ads, X ads, Linkedin ads, Google Analytics, and email tools such as Mailchimp and salesforce.
  • Expertise in lead generation and conversion
  • Experience in managing agile software development processes and be familiar with the design services and technical roles involved in an agile workstream, including project management, product management, UX design, visual design. The role requires technical related website management capabilities.
  • Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) and digital marketing.
  • Email marketing expertise
  • Experience with creating digital journeys to drive engagement and income
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset; a passion for making the numbers add up
  • Ability to follow up on ads planning

Languages: Excellent command in writing digital content in Arabic and English is Mandatory.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of MENA regional audiences and GCC market.
  • Awareness of humanitarian and NGO sector audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of social media ecosystems
  • Minimum knowledge of CMS knowledge (WordPress, Drupal, or whatever MSF uses).
  • Email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Salesforce Marketing.)
