Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care utilizing the nursing process and meeting the established standards of nursing practice and performance. Demonstrates leadership competencies while in charge or acting as a shift resource/team leader.
- Provides total patient care as assigned, according to the core standards of patient care, established policies, and evidence-based practices.
- Assumes accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, as well as discharge planning for each patient.
- Contributes to reducing length of stay and waiting time in accordance with unit-specific goals. Collaborates with Case Management to achieve objectives.
- Documents all relevant information accurately, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
- Reports equipment failures, safety and security concerns, and/or supply inventory reductions to the Head Nurse or designee.
- Demonstrates collaborative, multidisciplinary partnerships focused on continuous improvement in quality patient care. Acts as an advocate for patients and families. Identifies opportunities to improve care quality and addresses issues that may negatively impact patient outcomes, in alignment with the professional practice framework.
- Promotes a safe environment and patient safety by embracing a culture of safety and reporting risks to the Head Nurse or designee. Complies with policies related to personal and patient safety and the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.
- Contributes to achieving cost-efficiency goals within the unit. Demonstrates resource awareness by using staff time, equipment, and materials judiciously.
- Supports the achievement of clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction goals. Leads unit-based performance improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Participates in the orientation of new staff and nursing students to develop competence and performance. Helps maintain a positive learning environment and acts as a preceptor/mentor.
- Applies transcultural nursing principles in practice.
- Contributes to special projects and assignments aligned with nursing strategic priorities and the professional practice model.
- Promotes knowledge sharing and mentorship in accordance with relevant research and evidence-based practice.
- Participates in patient education initiatives.
- Adheres to all hospital-related policies and procedures.
- Engages in continuous education, training, and professional development for self and others, as applicable.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Current registration as a professional registered nurse.
Eligible for registration with Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Minimum of two (2) years of current clinical nursing experience following licensure/registration in the country of origin.
