Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Neurovascular Stepdown Unit (NVSD) UNIT - provides nursing care to adult neurosurgical and neurology patients with aneurysms, AVM and acute stroke management (based on the admission/ discharge criteria)
No. of Beds: 8
Management and care of adult patients with Neurosurgical conditions including:
Target Patients of the NVSD Unit will admit patients with the following conditions only:
- Acute ischemic stroke within 24 hours of stroke onset
- High-risk transient ischemic attack
- Acute intracerebral hemorrhage
- Acute cerebral venous thrombosis
- Cerebral aneurysms
- Arteriovenous malformations
- Neuroscience patients requiring close monitoring but not a ICU candidate, admitted only where there are no stroke patients to occupy the beds.
The NVSD unit will not admit patients with the following conditions:
- Acute ischemic stroke beyond 24 hours of stroke onset
- Requirement for mechanical ventilation, shock treatment, or septic complications
- Hemodynamically unstable patients
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Current registration as a professional registered nurse.
Eligible for registration with Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Minimum of two (2) years of current clinical nursing experience following licensure/registration in the country of origin.
