Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Core Accountabilities:
Replenishment Planning & Execution:
- Develop and maintain replenishment plans for assigned SKUs/channels using demand signals, historical consumption, and forecast adjustments.
- Create and release replenishment orders to distribution centers, stores, and third-party logistics providers in accordance with lead times and service targets.
- Manage safety stock, reorder points, and order quantities to balance service levels with inventory carrying costs.
Inventory & Availability Management:
- Monitor on-hand inventory, days of supply, and availability metrics; identify at-risk SKUs and take corrective actions to prevent stockouts.
- Coordinate replenishment for promotions, new product introductions, and seasonal peaks to ensure readiness and appropriate allocation.
- Support returns, transfers, and markdowns to maintain accurate inventory positions and minimize waste.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication:
- Partner with procurement, merchandising, operations, and sales to align replenishment plans with purchasing, marketing, and store requirements.
- Communicate supply constraints, lead-time changes, and prioritization recommendations to stakeholders and escalate risks when necessary.
- Work with suppliers and carriers to expedite critical items and resolve fulfillment issues.
Reporting & Performance Improvement:
- Prepare and distribute regular replenishment and inventory reports (e.g., fill rate, stockouts, days of supply, forecast vs. actual) to inform decision making.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze trends, and recommend process or parameter changes to improve service and reduce excess inventory.
- Document replenishment logic, exception handling, and action plans; maintain clear audit trails for adjustments.
Systems, Data & Continuous Improvement:
- Maintain accurate item master data, lead times, pack quantities, and replenishment settings in the inventory management and ERP systems.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks, refine forecasting inputs, and improve replenishment algorithms or rules.
- Participate in system testing, implementations, and data integrity initiatives related to replenishment and inventory.
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in replenishment planning, inventory planning, supply chain planning, or related roles in retail, distribution, or wholesale environments.
- Hands-on experience with inventory/replenishment systems and ERP platforms; proficiency with Excel for analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable replenishment decisions and to manage competing priorities under time constraints.
Core Competencies:
- Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using replenishment tools, reporting tools, and spreadsheets; familiarity with SQL or BI tools is a plus.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills to convey priorities, exceptions, and action plans across functions.
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple SKUs and tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactive mindset focused on optimizing replenishment processes and driving measurable results.
