About the job

General objective:

Under the supervision and with the support of the Grants Manager, the Reporting & Communications Officer (RCO) s primary role is to produce and synthesize high-quality reports, proposals, assessment reports and any documents distributed externally. To achieve these tasks, the RCO works in close coordination with the Grants and Partnerships Coordinator, the Grants Manager, the program and support teams of the mission. The RCO will support improving internal communication at the coordination level as well as internal communication with field bases. In a very sensitive environment regarding external communication, under the responsibility of the CD, the RCO will be involved in designing a communication strategy for an external audience.

The main challenges:

The role demands meticulous attention to detail and adherence to various donor guidelines and deadlines.

Another challenge lies in aligning various teams and stakeholders, ensuring consistency in proposal development, and managing diverse inputs to create cohesive and accurate project documents.

Security constraints:

  • Curfew and movement tracking procedures
  • Stress due to the air alarms and eventual explosions (missiles, drones)
  • Lack of access or constrained access in frontline areas.

Desired Candidate Profile

Degree in political science, humanitarian action, development, international relations or international law

Technical skills

  • Excellent writing skills and first experience in writing proposals and reports.
  • First understanding and knowledge of donors like DG ECHO, USA, CDCS, AFD, SDC or UHF.
  • Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively represent SI at forums and with donors.

Transversal skills

  • Oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Diplomacy and the ability to work in a multicultural context

Language:

  • Professional fluency in spoken and written English and French
  • Ukrainian and/or Russian (an asset)
