Research Assistant in Water/Environmental Engineering University of Sharjah

The Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE) is seeking to hire a full-time Water Process Engineer responsible for the design, fabrication, commissioning, and operation of advanced water and wastewater treatment systems, with a focus on desalination technologies. The role involves developing efficient and cost-effective treatment solutions for seawater, brackish water, and industrial wastewater applications.

The engineer will manage the full process lifecycle, including system design, process simulation, equipment sizing, and system integration. Responsibilities include designing treatment systems such as Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ultrafiltration (UF), Nanofiltration (NF), thermal treatment systems, hybrid systems, and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems. The role also includes preparing process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and conducting mass and energy balance calculations.

In addition, the engineer will oversee fabrication activities, including system assembly, material selection, skid design, and quality control to ensure compliance with industry standards.
