Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

A Research Assistant position is available in the Department of Internal Medicine, College of Medicine & Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University with Dr Adnan Agha for a short duration. The successful candidate will be engaged in a project investigating fatty liver disease in patient with type 2 diabetes. The position is for an enthusiastic young scientist with interest in Internal Medicine particularly Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome who can work with minimal supervision.

Primary responsibilities include the design and performance of clinical research as well as working laboratory and performing Fibroscan. Additional duties include preparing and maintaining detailed records, logs and summary reports of all research findings, conducting literature searches, analyzing data using appropriate software, and performing other job-related duties, as required.

This will be a short duration fixed contract up to end of December 2025 with stipend/salary only without any health insurance.

Desired Candidate Profile

The successful candidate should have at least a BSc in Clinical health sciences discipline but candidates with MBBS/MD/MSc degree will be preferred. The candidate should have good knowledge and research experience in more than one of the following areas: Internal Medicine, Healthcare related clinical hands on work and radiology (use of ultrasound).

The applicant must have a BSc degree in clinical sciences, or healthcare pharmaceutical science discipline.

MSc candidates will be preferred and having a HAAD licence as healthcare professional is desirable.

Previous experience of working in a clinical project and previous publication in a peer reviewed journal is desired.
