Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of a Chinese restaurant to ensure smooth service and an authentic, high-quality guest experience.
- Lead, train, and motivate front-of-house and kitchen teams on Chinese service standards, cuisine knowledge, tea culture, and teamwork.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and promptly, preserving relationships and traditional Chinese hospitality.
- Plan staff schedules, manage attendance, and ensure adequate staffing for peak dining hours, banquets, and special events.
- Coordinate closely with chefs, wok station cooks, dim sum chefs, and other departments to ensure timely preparation of appetizers, soups, noodles, rice dishes, stir-fries, seafood, barbecue items, and desserts.
- Monitor hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in compliance with local regulations and proper handling/storage of fresh Chinese ingredients, seafood, sauces, spices, and perishable items.
- Control inventory, stock levels, and ordering prioritizing authentic Chinese ingredients such as soy sauces, rice, noodles, spices, oils, seafood, and specialty products to ensure availability and minimize waste.
- Drive sales and profitability through Chinese-themed promotions, seasonal specialties, banquet packages, tea and beverage pairings, upselling, and cost-control measures.
- Conduct staff training, performance evaluations, and coach employee development in menu knowledge, service etiquette, tea service, and customer engagement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and financial targets while preserving brand authenticity, cultural presentation, and dining standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a similar leadership role within hospitality preferably in a Chinese dining restaurant.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences and authentic Chinese hospitality.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively in a fast-paced dining environment.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and local health regulations.
- Financial awareness, including budgeting, cost control, inventory management, and revenue optimization.
- Familiarity with Chinese cuisine, tea culture, traditional dining etiquette, and menu presentation is an advantage.
- Ability to coordinate efficiently with kitchen teams, including wok chefs, dim sum chefs, and service staff, to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
