Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Description: Main Responsibilities: Ensure the efficient management of the assigned Food & Beverage outlet as an independent profit center. Control all costs and propose measures to control them. Ensure strict adherence to the department's operating budget. Ensure that minimum operational standards are met to achieve the service level defined in the Department's Operations Manual. Monitor service quality and food and beverage standards within the outlet. Work closely with the Executive Chef to implement necessary corrective actions. Handle customer complaints, requests, and inquiries regarding food, beverages, and service. Develop and maintain a strong relationship with customers to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty. Oversee the preparation and updating of all Department Operations Manuals. Ensure that all Food & Beverage Department forms and reports are submitted according to established procedures. Lead daily operational briefings with Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and staff. Exemplify Sofitel Values and Brand Standards, and be an ambassador for presentation and hygiene rules. Implement directives, policies, and procedures in accordance with Sofitel standards and requirements. Apply Sofitel Food & Beverage rituals. Train and develop team members so they can work independently within their respective areas of responsibility. Delegate responsibilities to staff and regularly evaluate their performance. Conduct annual performance reviews. Conduct quarterly, semi-annual, and annual inventories of operating equipment. Perform any other reasonable tasks assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager. Other responsibilities: Actively contribute to building a high-performing team of Heartists by focusing on their well-being, safety, and professional development. Foster and maintain positive working relationships among colleagues and with other hotel departments. Ensure all Heartists report to work on time, wearing the regulation uniform and name badge, while adhering to the hotel and department's high standards of personal presentation and hygiene. Ensure all Heartists consistently provide warm, courteous, and professional service. Participate in Heartist training to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties with maximum efficiency and productivity.Supervise department staff and ensure adherence to the service methods and standards defined in the Hotel and Department Operations Manuals. Ensure familiarity with the Heartist's Handbook, understanding and compliance with hotel rules and regulations, including procedures related to fire safety, hygiene, health, and workplace safety. Proactively respond to changes within the department based on industry, company, or hotel needs, and communicate the corresponding action plan to management. Demonstrate flexibility and accept any reasonable assignment or responsibility within their competence, including temporary reassignment to another department or area if operational needs or customer service requirements so demand. Ensure that schedules are posted and that attendance sheets are submitted on time. Guarantee fair and consistent treatment of all Heartists, in accordance with their terms of employment, local legislation, and company and hotel policies and procedures.
Desired Candidate Profile
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required: Keen attention to detail, with particular focus on the hotel's style and aesthetics. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to attract dynamic new talent aligned with the department's and hotel's vision. University degree or equivalent in hospitality, catering, or a related field. Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role. Fluency in English, Arabic, and French.
