Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control systems on drilling rigs to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to rig instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, and control panels.
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of instrumentation equipment to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with drilling and engineering teams to integrate new instrumentation technologies and upgrades.
Develop and implement testing procedures for instrumentation systems to verify functionality and reliability.
Prepare technical documentation, maintenance logs, and calibration records in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
Provide technical support and training to rig personnel on the operation and maintenance of instrumentation systems.
Ensure all instrumentation activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and best practices.
Assist in the commissioning and decommissioning of rig instrumentation systems during rig mobilization and demobilization.
Liaise with vendors and suppliers for procurement, installation, and servicing of instrumentation equipment.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum of 3 years of experience in instrumentation engineering within the oil and gas or drilling industry.
Proven expertise in the installation, calibration, and maintenance of rig instrumentation and control systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under pressure.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to rig instrumentation and safety.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, calibration equipment, and relevant software applications.
Ability to work in an on-site (onshore or offshore) environment with extended shifts as required.
Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
Flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs and technology advancements.
