Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all operations are conducted safely and in compliance with HSE standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and supervise rig personnel, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, and overseeing daily activities.

  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of rig staff.

  • Define project objectives and develop operational plans in alignment with senior management directions, including manpower and resource requirements.

  • Oversee and analyze all drilling operations, ensuring they meet performance targets and safety expectations; recommend procedure improvements when needed.

  • Identify and implement updates to operating standards, procedures, and programs to optimize efficiency and reduce operational costs.

  • Provide clear, concise communication to the team through written and verbal instructions.

  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare and submit proper documentation.

  • Plan and manage the erection, dismantling, and mobilization of drilling rigs.

  • Coordinate delivery of drilling tools, fuel, water, and all necessary materials to the site.

  • Conduct rig inspections and prepare rig condition reports.

  • Monitor equipment and rig condition to ensure preventive maintenance is carried out effectively.

  • Evaluate wellbore conditions and communicate drilling outcomes.

  • Serve as the main point of contact with on-site operating personnel and client representatives.

  • Prepare operational reports, highlight drilling progress, identify challenges, and outline equipment needs for management review.
