Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Purpose
- Responsible for deploying, administering, and maintaining Riverbed NPM solutions to ensure full visibility into network performance, improve reliability, and proactively identify performance bottlenecks across the enterprise network.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and manage Riverbed NPM/NPM+ platforms and related modules
- Monitor network performance and analyze data to detect latency, packet loss, congestion, and other anomalies
- Maintain visibility into application performance, encrypted traffic behavior, VoIP/video performance
- Generate dashboards, reports, and insights to support troubleshooting and capacity planning
- Diagnose network/application performance issues using Riverbed tools and correlate data from multiple sources
- Work with NOC/SOC teams, server admins, application teams, and cloud teams to resolve root cause issues
- Manage policies, thresholds, alerts, and event escalations
- Support upgrades, patches, backup procedures, and high availability configurations
- Participate in network performance improvement initiatives
- Document solutions, configurations, procedures, and operational runbooks
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in communications/computer engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in enterprise networking or relevant monitoring tools
- Hands-on experience with Riverbed NPM/NPM+ is strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of:
- TCP/IP, routing, switching
- WAN/LAN, VPN, SD-WAN
- QoS, packet inspection, encryption impact
- Experience troubleshooting performance issues across network layers
- Experience with monitoring/observability platforms (SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, NetProfiler, AppResponse, NetIM, etc.) is a plus
- Ability to analyze packet captures (Wireshark or similar tools)
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work in 24/7 operational environments or on-call rotations
Preferred Certifications
- Riverbed Certified Performance Engineering credentials (RCPE)
- CCNA/CCNP
- ITIL Foundation
