Provides state-of-the-art technical / management advice and recommendation, as well as defines / undertakes the procedures / processes required for implementation.

• Assume responsibility and represent Design Department for all aspects related to highway engineering.
• Provide leadership in all relevant departmental functions.
• Lead external & internal coordination pertinent to highway inception & design.
• Review, comment / recommend acceptance or otherwise of related consultants' submissions.
• Comprehensive responsibility for management and control of related functions in in-house projects, including detailed scope definition and initiation, work progress and completion and staff management.
• Liaise with utilities providers and other stakeholders.
• Performance of other related duties as per management instructions.
• Supervise and control the activities of assigned personnel including allocating work and determining priorities
• Performs supervisory functions and exercise authority at any level as directed by the Manager of Roads Design Department
• Supervise a team of Engineers responsible for the review of designs
• To assist in initiating new work and preparation of design briefs to consultants
• Provision of technical advice
• Overseeing / preparing design reports, management or any other reports as directed.

• BSc / BEng or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. M.Sc is an advantage.
• CEng, PE, PEng or equivalent Chartership is a must.
• Minimum demonstrable experience of 8 years as a Chartered Engineer
• 20 years of demonstrable relevant experience in design & construction of infrastructure projects, with satisfactory experience in all related disciplines
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience with management capacity.
• Very good knowledge and experience with international & GCC design and construction code
• Working knowledge of written and spoken Arabic would be advantageous
• Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
• Qualification in project management is an advantage
• Satisfactory exposure to international and GCC conditions of Engagement / Contract.
