What You'll Be Doing:

• The Road Inspector under general supervision, performs difficult and sometimes complex inspection tasks. Inspects various facets of work on the construction site and performs continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Documents nonconformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution.

• Keeps records of work carried out in the field. Reporting non-compliance to the Site Engineer. Keeping field records of site resources.

• Advises Site Engineer of any site events that are likely to impede progress or cause non-compliance.

• Keeps Safety Engineer informed of risky activities and non-compliance in the field.

• Accepts approved requests for inspection from the Site Engineer and attends the site to witness tests to ensure compliance with the specification.

• Checks contractor's materials on site and proper storage and handling on site.

• Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum of eight (8) years extensive experience in asphalt work on major roads and highway projects.

• Must possess the ability to read working drawings and related specifications and capable of enforcing such specifications.

• Computer literacy and excellent communications skills is essential.
