Roads and Highway Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform highway project design, sketching and reviewing the developing_x000D_of the designs.
• Plan and review the production of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Prepare production drawings when required.
• Utilize technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with_x000D_codes and company policies.
• Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations_x000D_required for the preparation of drawings.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be_x000D_appropriate.
• Plan and review the production of engineering investigations or_x000D_planning work.
• Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for new projects, weighing_x000D_alternatives and selecting the most cost-effective solution.
• Analyze technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed_x000D_techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative_x000D_solutions.
• Analyze project dimension and scope and prepare or oversee the_x000D_preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules and job budgets.
• Attend meetings with clients and authorities and discuss any_x000D_technical issues and find mutual solutions to keep the project running and on_x000D_track.
• Coordinate work with Head of Roads and Highway Design and the project manager and guide junior professionals and technical personnel on the design_x000D_and drafting of preliminary and final plans.
• Be responsible for quality control, maintaining quality standards in all_x000D_work produced, and checking computations or reviewing designs and drawings_x000D_performed by others.
