Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Multi Quality control inspectors are responsible in the Oil and Gas industry is centered around ensuring the quality, integrity, and compliance of coating and welding activities within projects. Their duties may include monitoring operations, examining blueprints, testing materials, measuring outcomes, rejecting defective products, and reporting on product suitability to managers or other responsible parties.
- Inspect surfaces before coating application to ensure proper cleaning, blasting, and preparation as per specifications.
- Monitor and verify the application of coatings, ensuring adherence to thickness, type, and quality standards.
- Conduct tests such as adhesion tests, holiday detection, and dry film thickness measurements to ensure coating integrity.
- Maintain detailed records of inspection results, including photographs, reports, and compliance certificates.
- Ensure all coating activities comply with industry standards (e.g., NACE, SSPC) and project specifications.
- Pre-Welding Inspection: Verify materials, welding procedures, and welder qualifications before welding begins.
- Inspect welding processes during execution to ensure compliance with approved procedures and standards (e.g., ASME, API, AWS).
- Perform visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods like ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), and magnetic particle testing (MT) to assess weld quality.
- Identify and document welding defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, including weld maps, NDT results, and compliance certificates.
- Ensure all inspection activities align with safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and third-party inspectors to ensure seamless execution of quality control processes.
- Provide guidance and training to junior inspectors or team members on QC standards and practices.
- Participate in internal and external audits to verify adherence to quality management systems.
- IRATA: Ensure the guideline and standards mentioned in the ICOP.
- Diploma /bachelor s degree in engineering, management or related field.
- CSWIP 3.1 & NACE Level 2 or equivalent
- IRATA L1/L2 Certification
- Strong verbal and written communication in English.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas and Offshore Industries.
- Hands-on experience with various protective coatings, including epoxy, polyurethane, and thermal spray coatings, used to prevent corrosion in oil and gas infrastructure.
- Proficiency in inspecting welding techniques like SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), and FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding).
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Experience with NDT methods such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and dye penetrant testing (PT).
