Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Design, configure, and implement Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) systems for MV switchgear and RMU applications.

  • Integrate RTUs with SCADA and automation systems according to client and project specifications.
  • Prepare wiring diagrams, connection schematics, and all related engineering documentation.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and provide support during commissioning and startup phases.
  • Troubleshoot RTU systems in the field and provide effective technical solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure hardware and communication protocol compatibility (e.g., Modbus).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication standards, networking, and automation technologies.
  • Participate in technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure all work activities comply with project timelines, quality assurance, and safety standards.
  • Provide technical support and documentation for project handover and system maintenance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in telecom interfaces for RTU communication.
  • Familiarity with substation automation, communication protocols, and SCADA architecture.
  • Ability to interpret and work with electrical drawings and specifications.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, or Telecommunication Engineering.
  • 2 4 years of experience in RTU systems design, configuration, and integration for MV switchgear or RMU applications.
  • Familiarity with substation automation, SCADA architecture, and communication network design.
  • Hands-on experience with testing tools, diagnostic software, and communication analyzers is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and support field activities when required.
