Roles & Responsibilities

Job Title: Safety Engineer (NEBOSH IGC Certified)

Location: Saudi Arabia

Reports To: HSE Manager or Project Manager

Job Type: Full-Time contract


Qualifications: Graduation/Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Diploma mandatory NEBOSH IGC certification; additional certifications like IOSH or OSHA are a plus.


Key Responsibilities

Policy and Compliance: Implement and enforce all EHS requirements in line with company policy, client-approved plans, legal obligations, and contractual requirements. Ensure compliance with all statutory safety regulations and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001).


Risk Management: Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and unsafe work conditions. Implement mitigation strategies and recommend corrective actions.


Training and Awareness: Coordinate and provide safety training and induction programs for employees and subcontractors on job site hazards, safety procedures, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Conduct mock drills for fire safety and emergency preparedness plans.


Incident Management: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures. Maintain detailed records and reports of all incidents.

Documentation and Reporting: Manage and maintain all safety documentation, records of inspections, training, and compliance reports. Prepare regular statistical and analytical reports for management.


Equipment and Environment: Ensure the proper use, maintenance, and regular inspection of safety equipment (firefighting equipment, PPE, etc.) to meet quality and safety standards. Oversee hazard communication programs and the safe handling/storage of hazardous materials.


Coordination: Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, client representatives, and external regulatory agencies to ensure safety is integrated into all activities and operations.


Required Skills and Experience

Experience: 3-7 years of demonstrable experience in a safety engineering, risk management, or workplace safety role, often within specific industries like construction, oil & gas, or manufacturing.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in health & safety practices, EHS processes, occupational health standards, and knowledge of safety compliance requirements.


Soft Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills to provide technical guidance and promote a positive safety culture.

Certifications: NEBOSH IGC is typically required or a significant advantage. The qualification is ideal for those embarking on or advancing a health and safety career.
