Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Sales Engineer Industrial Refrigeration bridges the gap between engineering expertise and business development.
Their main role is to:

  • Identify new project opportunities,
  • Understand customer technical needs,
  • Propose suitable refrigeration solutions,
  • Prepare quotations and tender documents, and
  • Follow through until project award and handover.
Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and pursue potential clients in food processing, cold storage, logistics, and industrial sectors.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships with consultants, contractors, and end-users.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals explaining refrigeration solutions and benefits.
  • Handle tenders, RFPs, and prepare accurate technical and commercial offers.
  • Negotiate terms, close deals, and achieve sales targets.

2. Technical Support

  • Understand system requirements and select appropriate components (compressors, condensers, evaporators, control panels, etc.).
  • Work closely with the engineering and design teams to develop customized technical solutions.
  • Provide basic AutoCAD or schematic input for proposal drawings.
  • Attend site visits to assess requirements and support project definition.

3. Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with internal departments (procurement, design, projects) for project follow-up.
  • Maintain CRM or sales reporting tools.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on pipeline and sales activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education:

Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineering.

Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in sales or project engineering related to industrial refrigeration (e.g., ammonia systems, freon systems, IQF tunnels, chillers, cold stores).
  • Proven record of handling technical proposals and project quotations.
  • Familiarity with refrigeration equipment suppliers and brands (e.g., Bitzer, Sabroe, GEA, Danfoss, etc.).

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics and refrigeration cycles.
  • Ability to calculate cooling loads, select compressors/condensers/evaporators.
  • Knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, and control systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (basic), and CRM tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Negotiation and client relationship management abilities.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Fluency in English (Arabic and/or French are a plus).
