Job Title: Sales Engineer – Electrical & Lighting Solutions Location: Muscat, Sultanate of Oman Company: Global Axis International LLC Salary Range: OMR 600 – OMR 1,200 (depending on experience & caliber) Reporting to: Sales Manager / Head of Business Development About the company Global Axis International LLC (Muscat) is a manufacturing & turnkey-solutions company specializing in LED lighting, solar power, signages, road signs, street lighting, decorative lighting, metal fabrication and related engineering projects. Our business covers design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning of lighting/solar/signage systems — providing integrated solutions to clients. As we expand our commercial operations, we seek a dynamic Sales Engineer with an electrical background who can generate new business, build relationships, and lead teams (depending on level). Role & Key Responsibilities Depending on the candidate’s experience, this role may be at one of two levels: Level A – Assistant / Junior Sales Engineer (Lower calibre, salary toward OMR 600 range) Assist senior sales staff in lead generation and business development for lighting, signage, solar and fabrication projects. Qualify incoming enquiries: site visits, needs-analysis, specification understanding. Provide technical input (with support) in preparing proposals, quotations, and tender responses for LED lights, road signs, street lighting, solar lighting systems, decorative lighting, etc. Work with engineering/fabrication teams: understand product capabilities (LED modules, lighting fixtures, sign fabrication, solar systems) and translate into customer-facing documentation. Maintain CRM/database of prospects, customers, projects, status updates. Support project handover from sales to engineering & installation teams: ensure requirements are captured, assist coordination. Attend trade shows, site visits and customer meetings under the guidance of seniors. Meet defined quarterly sales support KPIs (lead generation, proposal submissions, follow-ups). Continuously learn about the company’s product portfolio (LED lighting, solar lighting, road signs, fabrication) and keep abreast of market trends in Oman & region. Level B – Senior Sales Engineer / Team Lead (Higher caliber, salary toward OMR 1,200 range) Own full sales cycle from lead generation, to proposal, negotiation, contract close, and hand-off to project delivery teams. Develop and implement business development strategies for lighting, signage, solar and fabrication segments: identify new markets, segments (e.g., government infrastructure, road authorities, municipal street lighting, commercial/industrial LED lighting). Lead a small sales team: mentor junior sales engineers, assign tasks, review performance, ensure targets are met. Build and nurture long-term relationships with key clients, consultants, contractors, and government departments in Oman and region. Prepare and present technical proposals, cost models, ROI analyses (especially for solar and LED solutions) and business cases to decision-makers. Collaborate closely with engineering, fabrication, procurement and installation teams to ensure solutions offered are feasible, cost-effective, and delivered on time. Track market/industry trends (LED, solar lighting, smart lighting, signage systems, road & safety signs), understand competitive landscape, and recommend product/service enhancements. Meet or exceed defined sales targets and contribute to forecasting, budgeting and pipeline management. Represent the company at major industry forums, trade exhibitions, networking events, and speaking engagements when required. Provide feedback to management on product development, after-sales support trends, and customer satisfaction.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Skills Essential (for both levels): Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in sales/engineering of electrical products (LED lighting, street lighting, solar lighting, signage, fabrication) for Level A; for Level B, minimum 5 years with proven track record of business generation. Solid technical knowledge of electrical lighting systems (LED fixtures, drivers, power systems), solar lighting systems (solar panels, batteries, charge controllers), signage fabrication (metal fabrication, LED modules, mounting systems) and road/traffic sign systems. Commercial acumen: ability to understand customer needs, propose solutions, negotiate contracts, understand costing and margins. Excellent communication and presentation skills (English essential; Arabic desirable). Self-motivated, dynamic personality with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with clients, contractors, engineers, consultants and government departments. Willingness to travel locally and regionally (site visits, client meetings) as needed. Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, proposal preparation. Desirable (especially for Senior level): Proven sales track record in Oman/ GCC markets in LED lighting, solar, signage/road-signage projects. Experience managing a sales team and achieving targets. Understanding of fabrication, installation and project delivery process for signage/lighting/solar. Familiarity with local regulations, tendering processes and procurement practices in Oman. Ability to work proactively in a fast-moving environment and drive new initiatives. Networking & relationship-building: maintaining and growing a network of contacts and leveraging them for business growth. Remuneration & Benefits Salary range: OMR 600 to OMR 1,200 depending on candidate caliber, experience and role level Performance-based incentives/commissions will apply (to be discussed/negotiated).
