Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The role will lead the end-to-end Sales & Marketing function for the Congo business, with full accountability for revenue growth, market expansion, brand positioning, and distribution excellence.
The incumbent will act as a business leader on-ground, driving commercial strategy, building strong distributor networks, and ensuring execution excellence across retail, wholesale, and institutional channels.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Revenue Leadership
Own and deliver top-line and bottom-line targets for the edible oil business
Develop and execute annual operating plans (AOP) aligned with regional strategy
Drive volume growth, market share expansion, and profitability improvement
Monitor sales performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions
Sales Strategy & Distribution Development
Build and expand robust distribution networks across Congo and nearby markets of DRC, Zambia, Central African Republic,
Appoint and manage distributors, wholesalers, and key accounts
Strengthen route-to-market strategy including urban and rural penetration
Ensure availability, visibility, and reach across all key channels: GT/MT/HORECA
Marketing & Brand Building
Marketing & Brand Building
Lead brand positioning and marketing strategy for edible oil portfolio
Plan and execute ATL / BTL campaigns, promotions, and activations
Drive consumer awareness, brand recall, and product differentiation
Analyze competitor activity and adapt strategies accordingly
P&L Ownership & Commercia excellence
Own and manage the sales and marketing P&L
Optimize pricing, margins, and trade schemes
Ensure achievement of revenue, volume, and profitability targets
Monitor key KPIs (sales growth, market share, distributor ROI, etc.).
Cross functional collaboration
Work closely with Supply Chain, Production, and Finance to ensure alignment
Ensure demand planning accuracy and inventory optimization
Align sales plans with production and logistics capabilities
Desired Candidate Profile
A Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Management with Sales and marketing as specialisation.
10–15 years of experience in Sales & Marketing, preferably in FMCG / edible oil / food industry
Experience working in Africa or emerging markets preferred
Strong exposure to distribution-led sales models
Basic French language exposure along with excellent English communication skills.
