Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the traditional trade sales team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment to achieve sales and customer service goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with traditional trade partners, including distributors, wholesalers, and small retailers.
  • Understand and address the unique needs, challenges, and requirements of traditional trade partners.
  • Assist in implementing sales strategies and objectives set by the Traditional Trade Manager.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with sales targets, KPIs, and account management plans.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance in traditional trade channels, including product performance, sales trends, and market dynamics.
  • Take proactive measures to achieve or exceed sales targets and maximize revenue.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in traditional trade channels.
  • Utilize market insights to adapt sales strategies and gain a competitive edge.
  • Collaborate with pricing and marketing teams to develop traditional trade-specific pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Communicate pricing changes and promotional details to the sales team and trade partners.
  • Work closely with inventory and logistics teams to ensure optimal product availability and inventory turnover in traditional trade channels.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales transactions, account interactions, and market intelligence.
  • Prepare sales reports, including account-specific analyses and recommendations for review with the Traditional Trade Manager.
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching to sales team members to enhance their product knowledge, selling skills, and customer relationship management.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement training programs accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations in traditional trade activities.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus
  • Proven experience in traditional trade sales, account management, or related roles within the FMCG industry
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in account management and sales reporting tools
  • Ability to analyze sales data and make data-driven decisions
