Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Provide high standard care to patients with gastrointestinal diseases in the Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Medicine.
Manage gastroenterology inpatients admitted under the consultant s name, including daily rounds and supervision of rotating medical residents, while adhering to all departmental and organisational regulations.
Deliver care to patients in the ambulatory (outpatient) gastroenterology services, including regular clinics.
Provide consultation services to other divisions and departments during regular hours and on call periods, including offering educational input to other staff.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures for which privileges have been granted, according to training, qualifications, and approved privileging conditions.
Participate in on call coverage for the Gastroenterology service.
Attend all required clinical, educational, and patient welfare meetings of the Division of Gastroenterology, as well as general Department of Medicine activities.
Participate in scientific research, educational activities, postgraduate training, and committee service as directed by divisional or executive leadership.
Optimally utilise resources, maintain continuous self development, and participate in Quality Improvement programmes.
Adhere to all departmental, divisional, and organisational regulations, including compliance with all APPs and IPPs.
