Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join our growing Prep School team. The post holder will:

  • Deliver engaging, challenging and creative Science lessons.
  • Inspire pupils to develop a strong understanding and love of the subject.
  • Contribute to curriculum development as the school expands.
  • Take an active role in the broader life of the school, including co-curricular activities.
  • Provide excellent pastoral care and, where required, fulfil the role of Form Tutor.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and influence the Science provision in a rapidly developing school.

  • Contribute to the school s co-curricular programme.

Pastoral Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupils during break and lunch duties.
  • Support the physical, emotional and social development of pupils.
  • Encourage courtesy, respect and good manners.
  • Promote positive relationships and high standards of hygiene.
  • Uphold school discipline and reward systems appropriately.

Management & Additional Duties

  • Maintain a purposeful and safe learning environment with high-quality displays.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues.
  • Support parent partnerships and uphold school policies.
  • Attend meetings, CPD, school events and trips.
  • Take on CCAs, duties, and House responsibilities as required.
  • Be present on campus at allocated times and maintain a professional standard of dress.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s Degree /PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification /Qualified Teacher Status.

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant teaching experience (Essential).
  • Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum or EYFS (Essential).
  • A proven ability to inspire, motivate, and engage pupils of all abilities (Essential).
  • Strong classroom management and pastoral skills (Essential).
  • Experience working with EAL learners (Desirable).
  • An understanding of the expectations of UK independent and international schools (Desirable).
