Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Securely and efficiently connect and disconnect tubular components (drill pipe, casing, tubing) using specialized power tongs, ensuring proper torque and alignment to prevent leaks and failures.
- Perform meticulous visual inspections of threads, connections, and equipment, identifying and reporting any damage or wear to ensure operational safety and prevent costly downtime.
- Operate and maintain power tongs, ensuring they are calibrated, lubricated, and functioning correctly to maximize performance and minimize the risk of equipment malfunction.
- Follow detailed instructions and adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times to prevent accidents.
Desired Candidate Profile
High school diploma or equivalent is required, providing a foundational understanding of basic technical concepts.
Possession of a valid offshore survival certificate (e.g., BOSIET) is essential, demonstrating readiness for offshore work environments.
Prior experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in a drilling environment, is highly desirable.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Screwman or in a related role, showcasing practical application of skills.
Requirements:
5 years experience
Experience with asphalt screed machines
Skilled in machine adjustment, assembling, calibration
Able to use precision tools (calipers, micrometers)
