PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Own and communicate the vision for data products (e.g., datasets, APIs, dashboards, AI/ML features).

2. Align data product goals with business objectives and client demands.

3. Ability to generate new data product ideas and translate into specifications to develop and launch new data products.

4. Prioritize features, enhancements, and fixes in the backlog based on business value and stakeholder input.

5. Write clear data product requirements and specifications (e.g. product features, source to target mappings, sample dashboards, governance etc..).

6. Maintain a well-groomed backlog for engineering and analytics teams.

7. Collaborate with prospective clients (e.g., clients, internal teams, business units) to understand data needs.

8. Act as the bridge between data engineering, analytics, business, and governance teams.

9. Gather feedback and manage expectations.

10. Define and enforce data quality standards (accuracy, completeness, timeliness).

11. Work with data engineers to ensure reliable pipelines.

12. Ensure that metadata, documentation, and lineage are available and maintained.

13. Ensure that data products comply with privacy laws, security policies, and internal governance rules.

14. Collaborate with data stewards and legal/compliance teams.

15. Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of the data product from ideation and design to deployment and retirement.

16. Ensure continuous improvement based on usage, feedback, and performance metrics.

17. Promote a data product mindset in the organization.

18. Help establish standards and best practices for data product management.

KEY ACCOUNTIBILITIES

1. Carry out daily operations assigned for the department to comply with the company s standards.

2. Prepare timely and accurate department reports to meet the requirements, objectives, and standards of the company and the department.

3. Ensure the satisfaction of internal and external customers to address their needs in a courteous and timely manner.

4. Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and processes in order for the work to be carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

5. Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices, work processes, cost effectiveness, and productivity enhancement.

6. Promote to other employees within the organization the implementation and adherence to policies, procedures, processes, and instructions.

7. Maintain a good and respectful relationship with other colleagues and represent the company in a good image.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor s degree in Computing Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, Statistics or related field.

Master s degree (optional) in Data Science, Business Analytics, or an MBA with a data focus.

Knowledge and Experience

6 + years of experience in roles such as data product owner or analytics manager. Product Management. Stakeholder Management.

Experience in data product ownership or data product management, especially in agile/scrum environments.

Skilled in road mapping, backlog grooming, user story writing, and prioritization techniques.

Understanding of product lifecycle management, especially for data assets.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, business users, and governance.

Previous experience owning or managing data products or platforms is highly preferred.

Experience in industries like finance, capital markets or any data-intensive environment is valuable.
