Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Secondary in the strategic planning, implementation, and monitoring of the secondary school curriculum and policies.
  • Provide leadership and support to teaching and support staff to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Manage student welfare, behavior management, and safeguarding practices to ensure a safe and inclusive school environment.
  • Oversee day-to-day operational matters within the secondary school, including timetable management, staff deployment, and resource allocation.
  • Lead staff professional development initiatives and performance appraisals.
  • Collaborate with parents, students, and external stakeholders to foster strong community relationships.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of school quality assurance and accreditation processes.
  • Represent the Head of Secondary as necessary in meetings, events, and committees.

Desired Candidate Profile

Egypt Education Platform is looking for an experienced and committed Secondary Deputy Head to join our leadership team for the academic year 2024. This pivotal role supports the Head of Secondary in delivering high-quality education, promoting a positive school culture, and ensuring the success and well-being of all secondary students.

Reporting Lines: Directly reports to the Head of Secondary and collaborates closely with senior leadership and department heads.

  • Bachelor s degree in Education, Leadership, or a related field; Master s degree preferred.
  • Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in secondary education, including at least 2 years in a leadership or deputy head role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage school operations, and implement educational strategies.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment practices, and safeguarding policies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff towards academic excellence and personal development.
  • Experience working within international or diverse educational settings is an advantage.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of student welfare and inclusion.
